Attended here for my granddaughters wedding . The food was excellent couldn’t fault it and the waiting staff were very good and very obliging . My two grandsons didn’t want the children’s meal and we asked if they could have the same as us and it was absolutely no trouble for them and a new meal was bought out to them within 10 minutes . The room we stayed in was lovely spotlessly clean and spacious and the breakfast the following morning Was delicious , again the staff were very good and professional.

I was put in Ash, there were beams all across the bedroom had to bend down to walk from one end to the other. I'm not the tallest either 😂 Lovely room but wouldn't recommend it

Loved this place. We felt welcomed and relaxed. Breakfast is perfect, generous and with quality. Rooms are extremely comfortable, cheap and the bath is big. Nice walks in the surroundings Hope to come back

Just stopped for coffee. The lovely lady who served us and our two young children made us feel really welcome. Nice gardens

So we stayed here the night before our daughter’s wedding. We paid nearly £200 for a suite and was disappointed it the quality of the room. It was old, dirty and to be honest a bit dinghy. The staff were very good and did everything they could to accommodate. However, what we weren’t made aware of is how loud the music was from the wedding that night. It kept us awake for hours only when the DJ ended did we manage to get some shut eye around 12. The worst part is you can’t actually hear noises just loud bass which pumps through your room keeping you up, imagine sleeping next to a nightclub. Obviously for the amount of money we paid we didn’t expect for this amount of noise or at least for when we booked it to be advise that due to another wedding it may be quite loud. Instead just had to deal with it keeping us up and waking up with bags under our eyes for our own daughters wedding

We stayed mid journey from Brighton to Norwich. Dog friendly, nice walks through the new housing area and parks. Lovely breakfast included at coffee shop

Came upon this place by accident after terrible service trying to book a premier inn in Chelmsford. A little further out but well worth it. Quiet area, spotless, high quality rooms and great service at a reasonable price. Nice breakfast too.

Wonderful trip! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room and bathroom facilities gorgeous. A crack in the bath but a note to say it’s fine. They should get it fixed though.

Lovely spot. Stayed here for a wedding. Which was wonderful. Only downside was nothing to do with the venue. When you leave via the potholes it’s impossible to find your way out of the estate that has grown around the venue. We ended up with a fine for going in a bus exit which our satnav bought us to. Gutted.

Location good, food & room not so much. For a 4-star hotel I expect more than this. While the staff is friendly, the food was 'ok'. However, It would be more fitting for a simple diner than a 4-star hotel. Eggs Benedict with only ham and poached eggs on muffins without anything else (no butter, no parsley on top, no hollandaise) is not what I expect given the atmosphere. Also the drip coffee included with breakfast takes me back to the 90's. We're in the 20's now. Everybody drinks specialty coffee. The room, although clean and charming for its age, was unable to be bolt-locked. When I got back, I even saw that the room door was ajar. Not a good experience. I think it's ok for a drink and some simple food after a round of golf. But that's about it.

My best friends had their wedding at Channels, and it was amazing. From the staff, to the retreat, to the rooms, to the restaurant, to the catering at the wedding, every last bit was outstanding and I cannot wait to come back and visit in the future.

We have stayed here a number times as we don’t live far, but it’s always nice to have a break for no reason. I have always rated our stay as a 5/5, but struggling now as it consistently gets better every time we return so feel I want to score higher. As always the grounds and the rooms are outstanding and very well kept, loving the new breakfast location as well as what’s on offer and the excellent staff. Had an amazing dinner at the Brasserie, well done chef! See you again soon xx

Lovely place but breakfast was disappointing. Called in advance to check if they could accommodate gluten free, was told they could and even sent a menu. On the morning though, they could only do gluten free toast and breakfast was buffet style with few options

After a lovely evening celebrating family birthdays at the Channels Brasserie, we were shown to the 4 rooms we had booked for ourselves & family members to stay last weekend. To say the rooms were stunning would be an understatement. The setting, the comfort & facilities were excellent. My Granddaughter had a dog friendly ground floor room, which was as luxurious as all the others. It became obvious why the young men on reception were so proud when they showed us to our rooms. Our weekend was completed by a tasty breakfast served by cheerful friendly ladies. Channels lodge puts other hotels in the shade.

We had a lovely experience here. A very well kept hotel and grounds. Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Large bathroom en-suite with an amazing waterfall head shower. Iron, board, suit aae stand, dressing gowns, hot choc, coffee and plunger, fridge, drinks and snacks, tissues, magazines, tv - everything you would need. Breakfast was also lovely, thank you :)

Highly recommended. We staid for a surprise birthday party - the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect. Definitely recommended 👌.
